Founded in 2007 humyo.com offers both free and paid online storage letting users easily share files with other people.
Features humyo.com offers 30 GB of storage with their free plan and 100 GB with their paid plan. With the free plan the allowed storage is split up into two meaning you have 25 GB for media files (photos, music and video) and 5 GB for all other files. On top of that there is no file size limit like many other providers use.
Besides the storage and no file size limit you also get mobile access, the option to send any files (again with no size limit) and the option to be able to embed media directly to your website.
What really makes humyo.com stand out is their software client though as it is simply excellent. After the installation is done it assign your account to a network drive (done through an easy guide) and you can now access your humyo.com account like a regular partition on your computer. The file upload and deleting are only a few minutes delayed if you access your account through the browser at the same time which can’t be much better. Sadly there is an “if” regarding this option as you can only use it for 14 days with the free account.
With the paid plan you can upgrade so you get 100 GB of storage and unlike the free plan it isn’t divided up into what type of files you can upload. You can also get encrypted file transfers and your files aren’t deleted either (they are deleted after 90 days without being logged in with the free plan). You can also let other users edit your shared files. And finally you can use the software client for as long as you like.
Interface The entire interface is excellent and very easy to use. The software client is even better as it is pretty much similar to any partition you already have with your operating system.
Speed Both upload and download speed is fast.
Support We haven’t been in contact with support yet.
Good things: • Price on upgrade • No limit on file size • Speed • The interface
Bad things: • Software client only available for 14 days with the free plan • Predefined file categories with the free plan
I’d just like to add something to the “Bad things” section; the software client installs an icon onto your desktop that cannot be removed. It’s a minor irritation in an otherwise great product.
