Box.net was founded in 2005 and offers both free and paid online file storage with a long list of extra services that you can enable for your account.
Features Their free plan includes 1 GB of storage for free and with the option to upgrade your account to get more storage and a few other improvements. The free plan also has a maximum file size limit of 10 MB.
With the paid plans you can get up to 15 GB of storage and with a file size limit of 1 GB most files should be uploadable. You also get phone support, mobile access and it is even possible to get custom branding.
On all plans including the free one there are no limits on the amount of transfer but you should assume that if you generate a lot of traffic you will at least get a notification especially if you are using the free plan. Box.net also makes it very easy to share files and also offers the opportunity to integrate your files to other web services you might use.
The thing that makes Box.net stand out from many of its competitors is the option to enable services. Those range from document editing to image editing and much more. You have a wide range of services that you can enable and each one has a good description so you get the idea of what they can do.
Interface The interface is very good looking and overall works very good. With their own customized context menu you always have the most needed features and options available with a right click. The only negative thing is that it contain a lot of graphics and can be a bit slow.
Speed The upload and download speed couldn’t be much better.
Support YourWebStorage hasn’t been in contact with support yet.
Good things: • Price on upgrades • Speed • The interface • A lot of extra features
